D.O. Rueda

The Denomination of Origin Rueda – which takes its name from the Spanish town of Rueda – was recognized as so on January 12, 1980 by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture. Rueda was the first recognized Denomination of Origin in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y Leon and today is one of the most important ones in Spain after working for several years for the recognition and protection of their native grape variety: Verdejo.

It consists of 72 municipalities in the provinces of Valladolid, Segovia and Avila. Its continuos steady growth guarantees the existence of these unique wines unified through quality, origin and exclusivity and a recognized wine in a national and international context.
